A new type of dental implant is being described as cutting edge technology, quick, efficient and importantly, patients say it is pain free.
The conventional way of doing implants for a denture patient, the patient had to go for surgery. Healing time for larger conventional implants can be weeks, even months, and that has meant that diabetics, who are slow to heal, have not been good implant candidates in the past, it’s a different story with these new mini-dental implants because implanting them is so minimally invasive. What we do here is we make sure we have enough bone, we measure the lengths and depth of the bone, then tiny screws are implanted and they go right from the gum to the bone, it’s inserted and it’s done.
The whole mini dental implant procedure takes about ninety minutes and the patient only undergoes a local anesthetic. NO PAIN AT ALL.
The mini dental implants cost much less than conventional dentures, usually less than half. Best of all, there’s no down time and patients can eat pretty much what they want, right away.
